Yuvvraaj ~ The first look and Quotes on Music

6 10 2008

If initial sound of Yuvvraaj is any indication, Subhash Ghai, A R Rahman and Gulzar have a winner in hands. The teasers of this yet another magnum opus from Ghai are out and so far, reactions from all around have been positive all the way.

Though one is yet to hear the words in the song, just the sound of piano playing in the background with some well etched frames featuring the quartet of Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Zayed Khan are collectively good enough to promise a lot in the offering. Add to that a lavish look of the film and one can almost sense a Taal round the corner.

Years back Ghai and Rahman had created magic with Taal which finds itself amongst one of the all time great soundtracks. Though Rahman along with Ismail Darbar did come up with a very good soundtrack in Kisna as well, it went largely unnoticed. Now with Yuvvraaj, Ghai is back with Rahman and one expects nothing but magic from the showman and the maestro!

Stay tuned as the film’s audio is expected to arrive around the middle of October.

First look of Yuvvraaj is out and while reactions from the industry as well as the common man are still awaited, those associated with the film are ecstatic to say the least. This is what they have to say about the music which is expected to hit the stands soon:

Salman Khan – “When Rahman and Subhashji come together, they give you the best music. The music of Yuvvraaj is outstanding. Its very soulful, peaceful and carries a sweetness of its own with powerful lyrical value.”

A R Rahman – “Subhash Ghai is very different from other directors. He has really worked hard on the visuals. They look really colorful and really romantic. It’s almost treated in a musical way where it’s more realistic than just background music.”

Gulzar – “When I saw the songs of Yuvvraaj on screen, I sent a message to Rahman saying that they were magnificent, and this is a very honest opinion of his songs and picturisation. Great showman puts up a great show! I think the performances of Subhash’s Yuvvraaj will go a long way in carrying this film ahead. It touches your heart.”

Shridhar (Sound Engineer โ€“ Yuvvraaj) – “I think its gonna rock, well, its gonna orchestrate… It’s going to reach a lot of people… and touch their minds and soulsโ€ฆ”

Salaam Farzad, and a belated Eid Mubarak to you! Do we know exactly when the soundtrack will be released? I thought it was supposed to be October 1st…I’m really looking forward to it and the film. A. R. Rahman has had by far (BY FAR) the best music releases this year, and hopefully this and Ghajini (especially an Aamir Khan film!) will be better than merely the icing on the cake, what do you think?

@ The Bollywood Fan

Wa Salam…. I don’t know your name, but I know that you are a frequent visitor of Rahmaniac. Yuvrraj is expected to release on October 15th and there are more tracks to be expected rather than listed in the track listings….. This would be surely a chartbuster. No doubts on it. But I am afraid, people must not compare this musical score to Taal ๐Ÿ˜›

great songs.

I am a Tamil. I listened to these songs. super. awesome.
If AR Rahman compose them into Tamil too, it would be very nice.

I agree with the others who’ve written in. I think when compared to Taal, the music to Yuvvraaj is good enough to hold its own. Brilliant!

I am also Tamil and as an hardcore fan of Rahman … I could only say that the album is soooo nice !
We can hear different style of music like pure Classical and Techno,… and as usual the quality is topnotch !
Every song has a different style and has got the real touch of the Maestro.
It would be great if some songs are remaked in Tamil (Shano, Manmohini,…).

the song shano shano is of that type what we are seeing consistantly in some last few movies of rehmaan…as EK LO EK MUFT in GURU and PAPPU in JAANE TU YA… Its seems to be offbit at first hearing. but you like it after hearing many times and especially after watching movie…
