Listening to Rahman’s composition is like hunting for a cuckoo’s warble in a forest full of song birds. All the divergent melodies distract you but slowly you sit through and find a distant echo oft the song in your heart. That was the cause when it came to Guru too. You have to listen to the tracks again and again to achieve musical nirvana but once you do, you feel you’ve known the notes all your life.
The background score sends subliminal signals to the viewers about the shifting moods of the film. Ar rahman added a whisper here, a note there and sometimes even silence to get the feel just perfect. One could say he played the audience like an instrument.
With these awards Rahman creates history. He is now the winner of the highest number of Filmfare awards – 21. All the best wishes to the maestro from Rahmaniac fans
